The AHC Academy of Excellence in Health Research is intended to serve as the highest recognition of excellence in research by AHC faculty. Those selected have enhanced the research identity of the University of Minnesota through sustained nationally- and internationally-recognized biomedical or health-related research in their field. Initiated in 2003 and continuing annually, the Academy for Excellence has 40 inductees in Health Research.  Dr. Hogquist has led the way in T cell development in the thymus. Her lab studies how selection processes shape the T cell repertoire to achieve a highly effective and self-tolerant adaptive immune system.
