Stephen Jameson, PhD, Elected 2024–2025 AAI President
After a recent election, AAI announced Stephen Jameson, Ph.D. (AAI '96), as its 2024–2025 president. Dr. Jameson, a distinguished immunologist and esteemed member of the AAI Council, assumed his role as president on July 1, 2024.

Congratulations to Drs. Ingunn Stromnes, David Largaespada, Branden Moriarity, Laura Rogers, and Saad Kenderian on their recent $1.5 million grant.
The new grant will help revolutionize individualized cancer treatment through a new partnership between the Masonic Cancer Center, the University of Minnesota, and the Mayo Clinic. Their focus includes improving immunotherapy effectiveness and enhancing immune system capabilities for stronger cancer therapies.

Thomas Hougard was awarded F30 grant
Thomas Hougard, MSTP/MICaB graduate student in Michael Farrar's lab, has been awarded his first F30 grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The grant, titled "The Role of Regulatory T Cells in Alzheimer's Disease," will support Tom's research and training as he advances toward becoming an outstanding physician/clinician-scientist.

Dr. Ryan Nelson has returned to the university as a physician-scientist in the Department of Pediatrics. A distinguished alumnus of the Medical Scientist Training Program (MD/PhD) at the University of Minnesota, Dr. Nelson's expertise in CD4+ T cell specificity and memory cell formation serves as a solid foundation for his career in both research and clinical practice.
