 Yoji Shimizu and Jill Siegfried (Pharmacology) received NIH R25 funding for a five year education program entitled Cancer Research, Education, and Training Experience (CREATE)

The grant provides an integrated summer experience for talented, motivated undergraduate students interested in a cancer research career.  The program, administered by the Life Sciences Summer Undergraduate Research Programs (LSSURP), will support 16 undergraduates selected from a national pool of applicants for hands-on independent cancer biology research under the mentorship of a CREATE program faculty mentor, education and career development for a full-time period of 10 weeks during the summer. This NCI program intends to stimulate the interest and advance the knowledge base of participants to consider further education and training for future careers as cancer researchers.
