On the cover of the November 2017 issue of Cancer Immunology Research, Ingunn Stromnes and colleagues investigate the mechanisms of immunological resistance in pancreatic cancer, showing that PD-L1 (green) is quite rare in pancreatic tumor cells (magenta), while being found in stromal cell clusters, showing the multiple and distinct mechanisms of immunotherapy resistance.  Along with the cover image, her article "T-cell Localization, Activation, and Clonal Expansion in Human Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma" can be found on page 978 of the journal.

Justin Spanier and his visualization of diabetogenic T cells undergoing tolerance induction in the spleen is featured on the December 2017 cover of Diabetes.   Along with the cover image, his article identifying that the frequency and phenotype of insulin-specific CD4 T cells in patients correlates to antibody titer and may lead to a better understanding of the bioactivity of the disease has been published in the December 2017 issue of Diabetes.  The article Increased Effector Memory Insulin-Specific CD4+ T Cells Correlate With Insulin Autoantibodies in Patients With Recent-Onset Type 1 Diabetes,” and the corresponding commentary on the science can be found here.
